PhD Candidate
Ir. Tamara Verónica Pinos Cisneros MSc is a PhD candidate at the Digital Life and Play and Civic Media lectorates and an Instrument Developer at the Digital Society School of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. Her research specializes in using Smart-toys and playfulness to motivate children with cerebral palsy to engage in hand therapy. With a background in Computer Engineering and a master’s in Media Technology, Tamara combines her technical expertise and passion for technology’s positive impact, as demonstrated in her research projects such as Toys4Health and Toys4Therapy at home. Her teaching includes prototyping and creative applications of technology, while her previous roles span software development, entrepreneurship, and coaching multidisciplinary teams at MediaLAB Amsterdam. She is currently pursuing her PhD at the University of Twente, focusing on behavior change techniques applied to Smart-toys.
